A Letter from the Founders

A letter from Dom and Ben.

Hi Runnas,

Dom and Ben here, Co-Founders of Runna. Today we’re delighted to share some exciting news with you - we are becoming part of the Strava family! We’ve been in talks with Strava since last year and we, along with the Runna team have been continually excited by their mission, their growth and their team; we expect the transaction to be completed in the coming months. Strava is and always has been the dream home for Runna - having over a hundred and fifty million users on its platform, being a mature startup, being device and brand agnostic and being the number 1 app for active people in the world.

We’re delighted to enter this next chapter as part of Strava - Runna will be remaining independent both as a team and product for the foreseeable future, so apart from some exciting integrations we’ve got planned, as a user you won’t notice much difference. We know Strava will help us reach tens of millions of Runnas all over the world, invest in our product as well as team for the years to come which we hope will make Runna even better for you - our incredible users!

With this deal, the Runna product, team and user base will be growing - Strava will be investing to help us grow the team, build new features in the Runna app and create additional value for users, which will again in turn allow us to improve the product even more!

For those of you that do use Strava too (we certainly do!), you will continue to have the option to sync your activities, data and stats between the two platforms. Honestly, as the Founders of Runna, but also as keen users of the app, we’re excited. We set out to build Runna to improve people's lives through running and this deal enables us to do that even more.

Bring on the next phase of Runna!

Dom and Ben

Any lost features? Any new features?

• No lost features and many new ones to come! More details to come.

Will Strava sunset the application in the near-term? Or longer-term?

• No - Strava is investing in us for the long term. There are no plans to sunset the app in the foreseeable future. Runna is going to keep getting better! :)

Will Runna lose its upstart/disruptor energy? Will the speed of innovation change?

• Absolutely not! :)

If I have accounts with Strava and Runna, will my accounts be linked?

• You can link your accounts from the Runna / Strava apps using the existing integration if you'd like (available for >2 years!) and more integrations will be possible over time.

If I don't have a Strava account, will one be made for me?

• No, but we'd definitely recommend doing so - Strava is awesome!

Will Runna automatically post workouts to Strava?

• Not unless you turn on the Strava integration that we've had for >2 years now!
