The United Airlines NYC Half, organized by the nonprofit New York Road Runners and sponsored by United Airlines, features a 21.1- km (13.1- mile) course that takes 27,000 runners through New York City's iconic parks and landmarks, starting in Prospect Park, crossing over the Manhattan Bridge, passing through Times Square, and finishing in Central Park. The fast course and energetic atmosphere attract runners of all ages and abilities from around the world. The United Airlines NYC Half is the only other race, besides the TCS New York City Marathon, where participants run through two boroughs of NYC.
